Social Security’s payment schedule and the latest Monthly Statistical Snapshot have unveiled two interesting facts. On the one hand, there will be an SSI payment on February 28, 2025. Therefore, the direct deposit will not be distributed
On the other hand, depending on your age group, recipients have a different average payment. For example, if you are aged 18-64, the average direct deposit will be $743. The good news is that this payday is for all ages and for all sorts of SSI recipients in the United States. Thus, save the date since Feb. 28 may be your payday.
Which age group on SSI will receive a lower payment?
The age group that will receive the lowest Supplemental Security Income payment will be those aged 65 or older. As a matter of fact, their monthly payment is about $575.
But why is there such a considerable difference if compared to those aged 18-64? One of the reasons why this could happen is the fact that most seniors aged 65 or older are receiving Social Security retirement benefits.
Hence, they get a reduction and do not qualify for the full amount. Actually, the largest benefit an individual can receive on February 28 will be worth $967. Eligible married couples will get up to $1,450 on February 28.
Which age group on SSI will receive a higher payment?
If you are under 18 or a member in your household is and collects SSI payments, their average payment is $812. Therefore, it is higher than the average direct deposit for those aged 18 or older.
The payday will also be the same for the under-18 group. So, they can expect their direct deposit on February 28, 2025, as well. Remember that SSI payments are only for low-income Americans who have limited resources.
So, you should report any changes in the earnings you have because it could affect your eligibility. Although SSI payments are usually delivered on the 1st, it will not be possible to send it on March 1 because it falls on the weekend. Since the Social Security Administration can only issue payments on business days, it will be distributed in advance.
