Millions of American taxpayers have already filed and received their IRS stimulus checks of up to $1,400. However, there are some citizens who qualify and have not done so yet.

The Internal Revenue Service has made an important announcement. In fact, about 1 million taxpayers had not claimed this stimulus check when the Agency made the reminder.

Who can still claim the $1,400 stimulus checks from the IRS?

This Economic Impact Payment can be claimed if you have not filed your 2021 tax return and you qualify for the Economic Impact Payments. This reminder is for non-filers.

In most cases, many taxpayers who have no obligation to file their 2021 tax return simply did not file. What many of them don’t know is that even if you are not required to file by the IRS, you might get a tax refund if you qualify for this stimulus check or for another tax credit.

Bear in mind that the Internal Revenue Service has gone the extra mile and has even issued stimulus checks to those eligible recipients who filed but did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit because they ignored they qualified.

These direct deposits came through January 2025. However, in order to receive this stimulus check worth $1,400 you must file your 2021 tax return or you will miss out on this payment.

When has the IRS set the stimulus check deadline?

The last day eligible taxpayers of the $1,400 stimulus check will be April 15, 2025. Therefore, there are just a few days left to claim this money through the Recovery Rebate Credit.

Do not forget to file if you meet the requirements the IRS set for this awesome payment. Unfortunately, the 2020 stimulus check deadline is over, but you can still claim the Recovery Rebate Credit for 2021.

Not only can you claim this stimulus check, but you can also claim any other tax credits you may be eligible for. In fact, there are many taxpayers who have collected the Economic Impact Payments but missed out on other credits.

How to claim the $1,400 stimulus check

The Agency reminds American citizens who have not filed their 2021 tax return that they may still qualify for a refund payment. Hence, all they have to do is file and claim the Recovery Rebate Credit before the April 15, 2025, deadline comes to an end.

Once this deadline is over the United States Treasury will get the unclaimed money from these Economic Impact Payments. Do not worry if your income from a job or business you had in 2021 was minimal or non-existent.

The IRS reminds taxpayers that they can claim the recovery rebate even if their earnings were too low or if they had no income at all. Make sure you check the requirements and file before it is too late.
