The Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments in the United States will soon be delivered. First of all, you must have filed and received approval because it is only for Americans with a low income and little to no resources. What is more, you must have a qualifying disability, be blind, or be at least 65 years old.

In fact, the largest SSI benefit an individual can receive is $967, up from $943 in 2024. Thus, this will be your full amount if you did not get any reductions at all. For example, if you have a Social Security payment or you work, you may get a reduction.

8 days to get SSI benefits in the U.S.

The Social Security Administration has announced that Supplemental Security Income payments on April 1, 2025. Therefore, as of March 24, 2025, there are just 8 days to get your monthly SSI payment in the U.S.

Generally, Supplemental Security is deposited on the first day of the month. However, save the upcoming payments for this Federal benefit because there will be important changes in May.

Although there will be a new payment date on May 1, 2025, there will be another direct deposit or check on May 30, 2025. It will not be an extra payment or a bonus. It will be the June payment sent in advance. Since June 1, 2025, falls on the weekend, it had to be rescheduled to the previous business day.

What are the average SSI payments in the U.S.?

In March, the Social Security Administration unveiled the updated average payments in the United States. As of February 2024, the average amount for Supplemental Security Income is $715.

It has gone up 1 dollar if compared to the January average amount. The largest average will be for under-18s. They can get about $836. Are you aged 18-64? This age group can receive about $762 on average.

As a matter of fact, the lowest average SSI payment will be $591 for those aged 65 or older. Not on this benefit yet? Check your eligibility online on the SSA website and apply.
