The Social Security Administration (SSA) keeps updating average payments. As of January 2025, the average retirement benefit is worth $1,978. However, this is the average payment for all retired workers in the United States.

Apart from the Monthly Statistical Snapshot for January 2025, there are also other interesting average payments. Social Security claims that women will receive $1,783.00 on average. Men will receive about $2,185.31 on average. In total, 26,672,734 are women on retirement benefits. Men are 25,282,035. Of course, there is no fixed amount for retirees and you could get a completely different amount.

Social Security checks worth $2,185 or $1,783 are due on Feb. 19

Some retirees collect retirement benefit payments on February 19, 2025. This could be your payday if you were born from the 11th to the 20th. It does not matter the month you were born.

Checks and direct deposits will be on time. If there were any delays, contact your financial institution or bank because they may have difficulties in processing payments.

If after three mailing days you have not collected your monthly payment, you should call Social Security. Then, you will be able to report the missing or late retirement payment.

Are you eligible for Social Security on Feb. 26?

Some retirees will be the last ones to get their retirement benefits. The only reason to get it so late is that they were born from the 21st to the 31st. They cannot be on SSI and must have collected benefits after April 30, 1997.

For your information, if you are about to apply for retirement benefits, check if your spouse or children are eligible. Take into account that spouses can receive about $931 on average.

Children of retired workers can receive Social Security checks worth $919. Some other citizens who qualify for RSDI can get a payment on February 19 or 26 too. RSDI includes Retirement, Survivor, and Disability benefits in the United States.
