Why not start Pancake Day by filing your 2024 tax return? Then, you can spend some time eating pancakes after having claimed your tax refund from the IRS. No doubt this will be the best way to celebrate your achievement!

Filing a tax return can be quite boring and demanding, so enjoy Pancake Day as much as you can. But when will the IRS send your tax refund check if you qualify for one? As a matter of fact, it can take about 21 days. In some cases, it can take even less time. This is only for those who requested direct deposit and filed electronically.

When will you receive your tax refund from the IRS if you file on Pancake Day?

Actually, you may receive your 2024 tax refund check on February 25. That is exactly 21 days after Pancake Day. Thus, most recipients who file on February 4 will get their money in 3 weeks.

Of course, there can be some delays if you have not filed an accurate tax return. Any mistakes or errors can cause delays because the IRS may need to check your tax return in detail.

Those taxpayers who opt for electronic filing make fewer mistakes. Take for example IRS Free File or the Direct File pilot. Double check birthdates, names, and Social Security numbers are the right ones. IRS will send tax refunds later if you claimed EITC or ACTC

The Internal Revenue Service reminds taxpayers that they can expect their tax refund check by March 3 if they have claimed the EITC or the ACTC. EITC stands for the Earned Income Tax Credit, while ACTC stands for the Additional Child Tax Credit.

Once again, this will only be possible if there are no mistakes, you filed online and you ordered a direct deposit. Getting tax refunds a few days earlier may be possible in some cases.

Anyway, you can always check the status of your 2024 tax refund on the IRS tool “Where’s my refund?”. By using it, you will see if your tax refund is on its way or if you need to contact the IRS for any reason.
