The latest Social Security payment schedule brings lots of surprises for SSI recipients. Bear in mind that there will be just 12 checks per year, so there are no extra or bonus payments. However, there will be some months when you can receive a check and the one for the next month too.

A monthly SSI payment for an individual will be up to $967, up from $943 thanks to the 2025 COLA increase. Hence, the maximum boost a single person can receive will be $24. Eligible married couples will receive up to $1,450, up from $1,415.

Which months will SSI recipients receive 2 payments?

May, August, October, and December will bring two paydays per month in 2025. However, the second payment will be for the following month but it will have to be delivered in advance.

Social Security needs to reschedule SSI paydays when they fall on non-working days. So, only the Supplemental Security Income paydays that fall on business days can be issued on the first day of the month.

SSI paydays in May, August, October and December

  • May 1
  • May 30
  • August 1
  • August 29
  • October 1
  • October 31
  • December 1
  • December 31

Which month has no SSI payments scheduled in 2025?

Since some SSI payments have been scheduled for the previous business day, there are some months that seem to have no Supplemental Security Income paydays, even if they will arrive hours in advance.

March has no Supplemental Security payments scheduled on the first. Hence, its payday will be February 28, 2025. Keep in mind that it will not be the only month that this will happen.

The Supplemental Security check for June will be issued on May 30, so the are no paydays for this program in June. September and November will not have paydays for Supplemental Security either.

Instead, they will be delivered on August 29 and October 31 respectively. Another interesting thing about SSI’s payment schedule for Supplemental Security is the December 31, 2025 payment. In fact, it is the January 2026 check.
