SNAP benefit payments in the United States

February is just around the corner and SNAP payments are about to start since the last January Food Stamps were issued on the 28th in Florida and Texas. Not all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits will be issued on the same day.

What is more, some States will only have a payday. Therefore, all recipients will get the SNAP payments on the same day. Thus, if you live in Alaska, Vermont, Rhode Island, and North Dakota, check your EBT card on January 1, that is when they will be reloaded.

For your information, some States may have a different name for Electronic Benefit Transfer cards. For example, they are called Lone Star cards in Texas. In California, SNAP is called CalFresh.

Some use the case number, others the Social Security number or even the Eligibility Determination Group number. Check USDA’s monthly issuance to check eligibility for each payday, State, or territory: https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/monthly-issuance-schedule
