The USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) has announced that the State of Michigan, Hawaii, and North Carolina start issuing SNAP payments on February 3, 2025. However, Hawaii will issue higher maximum payments than the other 2 States because of higher inflation.

On average, the maximum SNAP payment a family of 8 can receive is $1,317. If you are 4 people living in the same household, it could be about $726 on average. These average amounts are provided by the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. A single person can receive about $199 on average. Even if many recipients do not get the full amount, checks are vital to get by.

Who will receive SNAP payments in Michigan, North Carolina, and Hawaii first?

To receive SNAP payments in Michigan first, apart from having received approval, your ID number must end in 0. Those recipients who meet this condition will get Food Stamps on February 3. Other paydays in Michigan will be due on the 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, and 21st following the logical order of IDs (ending in 1, 2, 3, etc).

North Carolina will also start delivering SNAP benefits on February 3, 2025. In this case, North Carolina uses the Social Security Number instead of the ID. If your SSN ends in 1, your benefits will be on your EBT card on February 3, 2025. Other paydays will take place on February 5th, 7th, 9th, 11th, 13th, 15th, 17th, 19th, 21st.

Hawaii only has 2 SNAP paydays every month. The first will be on February 3 and then on February 5. It will be first for those recipients whose first letter of their last name is A-I. Then, for those whose first letter of their last name is J – Z on Feb. 5, 2025.
