Social Security March 2026: Three Groups Already Paid and Here’s Who Gets Money Next Weeks

The last Social Security retirement benefit was issued on January 22, 2025. Therefore, retirees will only get money from the Administration in February. However, if you are on SSI, the Federal program, you could receive the February payment on January 31, 2025. Hence, some retirees receiving both benefits can still get some cash this month.

Retirees who can get the first Social Security payment in February must meet one of the two conditions the Agency has set. On the one hand, you must have been on retirement benefits for about 28 years. That is, since before May 1997. If you have filed and gotten approval after that date, you could still receive the first February payment. The thing is you must be receiving SSI (Supplemental Security Income) and retirement benefits simultaneously.

When will Social Security deliver the first payments in February?

Next month will have a total of 4 retirement benefit paydays. The first one will be issued on February 3 by the Social Security Administration. Nevertheless, if you do not meet the requirements, there are other possibilities.

After the February 3 payment for retirees, there is another one scheduled for February 12. The retirement benefit payments on the 12th will not be yours unless you meet the criteria SSA set.

On the one hand, you must have been born from the 1st to the 10th. In case you do not know it, it does not matter the month you were born or the year, as long as you filed and got approval. If you are on SSI, you are not eligible for the payment on the 12th. Those retirees who got benefits before May 1997 are not eligible either.

Social Security on the 19th or 25th

Some retirees will also get money from the Agency on the 19th. This will be your payday if your birth date falls from the 11th to the 20th. Thus, it is essential to meet this condition.

Then, the final payday for retirees on Social Security will be on February 25. This will be when your money is in your bank account if your birthday falls from the 21st to the 31st.

That is, you were born after the 20th. As for the maximum and average amounts of the Social Security retirement payments in February, check all the possibilities:

  • $1,976 on average after the 2025 COLA increase
  • up to $2,831 if you file for Social Security at 62
  • up to $4,018 at Full Retirement Age
  • up to $5,108 at 70
