Social Security, SSDI, retirement and SSI payments in February 2025

Receiving the February payments is what millions of Americans on Social Security and SSI benefits long. However, the first to get their check or direct deposit will be those on Supplemental Security Income benefits.

The Agency has confirmed that the February payment for SSI will be delivered 1 day before the normal due date because Feb. 1, 2025, falls on the weekend. So, SSI recipients can expect their monthly payment on January 31, 2025. Social Security has scheduled the first payment for retirees and SSDI recipients on February 3, 2025. February

Who qualifies for the first Social Security payment in February?

While SSI recipients will only have a single payday, Social Security recipients need to meet additional requirements to get money on one of the 4 paydays. For example, to receive the SSDI or retirement payment on Feb. 3, 2025, you must have filed and received benefits before May 1997.

Nevertheless, this is not the only way retirees and SSDI recipients can be eligible for this Social Security payment. As a matter of fact, it could also be your payday if you have a low income and are also receiving SSI benefits on January 31, 2025.

Remember that SSI is for citizens with a limited income and resources and who are either:

  • blind
  • have a qualifying disability
  • are age 65 or older

Last 3 Social Security payments in February

Those who began collecting Social Security retirement or SSDI benefits after April 30, 1997, have one of the last 3 choices. First, the Agency will issue a monthly payment on February 12.

To get money on the 12th, you must have your birthday from the 1st to the 10th. Those born from the 11th to the 20th will receive their Social Security payment on February 19.

The final payment in February will be delivered on February 26 if you were born from the 21st to the 31st. The surprises for SSI recipients are not over. The March payment for SSI will be in your bank account on February 28, 2025. The average payments for retirement, SSDI and SSI will be about:

  • retirement average payment: $1,976
  • SSDI average payment: $1,580
  • SSI average payment: $696
