IRS 2025 Tax Season and Schedule

IRS 2025 Tax Season and Schedule

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) started the 2025 Tax Season on January 27. Then, taxpayers can continue filing 2024 tax refunds through April 15, 2025. If you do not have enough time to gather all the necessary information, you can simply pay the taxes you owe and get a time extension.

For your information, some places that have suffered a natural disaster may qualify for an automatic time extension. Therefore, you can check if FEMA has declared the place where you live as a disaster area.  The IRS also makes announcements regarding the areas or States that qualify for tax relief and time extension.

How can I see when the IRS will send my 2024 tax refund?

If you would like to know how long your tax refund will take, make use of the IRS tool. It is known as the “Where’s my refund?” and you can use it within 24 hours once you have filed an electronic tax return for 2024.

If you have filed a tax return electronically but it was from a previous year, it can take between 3 or 4 days. Paper returns are not so fast and you will need to wait for 4 weeks before you can check the status of your paper return.

All you have to do is visit the IRS official website: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund. If you have a smartphone, you can also download the app called IRS2Go.
