RSDI, Retirement, Survivor, and Disability benefits will go on after March 12. Therefore, it is time to prepare your monthly budget if you rely on any of these 3 Social Security payments in the United States of America.

Bear in mind that the March 19 RSDI payment will only be for Americans who have filed after April 30, 1997, are not receiving Supplemental Security Income and have been born on a specific day.

Do you qualify for an RSDI payment on March 19?

If you were born from the 1st to the tenth and you meet the previously mentioned conditions, one of these RSDI payments will be yours. As a matter of fact, it could come in the form of a paper check or direct deposit.

Those RSDI recipients who have requested direct deposit will receive the money on time. For your information, direct deposits are fast and secure. It is the best way to avoid delays.

Do not forget that paper checks could be delayed due to weather conditions, and they could be lost or stolen. Let’s move on to the next thing you may want to know, RSDI payment amounts.

RSDI average payment amounts

On average, Social Security benefits are worth $1,837. That includes retirement, survivor and disability benefits. However, retirees tend to get higher monthly payments because they have, generally, paid more taxes for longer.

The average payment for retired workers, as of January 2025, is $1,978. A spouse of a retired worker gets about $931 on average. Their children can get about $919 on average.

The average payment for survivors is $1,546 on average. The largest average payment for survivors is for nondisabled widow(er)s and the lowest for disabled widow(er)s. SSDI recipients can get about $1,439 including all recipients.

Workers with a disability can get about $1,580 while spouses of workers with a disability get an average payment of $431 and children about $510 on average.
