This October, thousands of New Yorkers who rely on Social Security benefits will receive their deposits following the official schedule released by the Social Security Administration (SSA). These monthly payments include programs such as Retirement, Survivors, Disability Insurance (RSDI), and the Supplemental Security Income (SSI), which serve as a financial lifeline for millions of Americans.
The payment calendar is not only a timetable for deposits but also an essential tool for beneficiaries to plan their monthly expenses, from housing and groceries to medical care and transportation. In New York alone, more than seven million residents depend on these funds, underscoring the vital role of the SSA in the state’s economic stability.
October 2025 Social Security Schedule
For October, SSI beneficiaries will receive their regular deposit on October 1st. In addition, there will be a second SSI payment on October 31st, which is an advance for November.
Recipients of Retirement, Survivors, and Disability Insurance (RSDI) will get their benefits according to their birth dates, distributed across three Wednesdays:
- October 8th: for those born between the 1st and 10th.
- October 15th: for those born between the 11th and 20th.
- October 22nd: for those born between the 21st and 31st.
Meanwhile, individuals who have been receiving Social Security since May 1997 or earlier will continue to get their benefits on the 3rd of each month, regardless of their birthday.
What If Your Payment Is Delayed?
The SSA advises beneficiaries to wait three business days if their deposit does not appear in their account on the scheduled date. If the payment is still missing after that period, they should contact their local Social Security office for assistance.
The October calendar also anticipates payments for November and December 2025, allowing recipients to better plan for upcoming holiday expenses and the transition into the new year.
