The SNAP benefits (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) are paid on the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card. The deposit date depends on the last digit of your case number (your “toe digit”). There are different schedules for NYC and outside NYC, since the populations and the requirements are different, actually.

How to know your SNAP pay day in New York

The exact dates vary from month to month because of holidays and weekdays. NYC publishes a schedule for six months at a time based on the last digit of your case number. Here is how it works: Toe Digit: The last digit of your SNAP case number decides when you get paid. Column A: SNAP benefits are always in Column A in the NYC schedule. Where to check: The official schedule is at www.nyc.gov on the NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) site, or call 888-328-6399.

You will need your 19 digit EBT card number to get info. For example, for June 2025 (based on the calendar): Case number ending in 0: benefits are deposited June 2 and June 16. The maximum SNAP allotments in 2025

The maximum benefits for the food stamps SNAP benefits for the period that goes through September 30, 2025, have been established. These figures, determined by the USDA’s Thrifty Food Plan (TFP), define the maximum nutritional assistance for households with no net income in the 48 contiguous states and the District of Columbia. The allocation varies significantly depending on the size of the household.

For a single-person household, the maximum monthly benefit is $292. Two-person households can receive up to $536, while three-person households have a maximum of $768. Families of four have a monthly limit set to $975. The amounts continue to go up for larger groups: $1,158 for five people, $1,390 for six, $1,536 for seven, and $1,756 for eight members households. For each additional person beyond eight, $220 could be added to the base amount.

The final calculation of the benefits a household receives is derived from a unique formula. The actual allocation is obtained by subtracting 30 percent of the household’s net income from the maximum amount corresponding to its size. This mechanism ensures that benefits are targeted to households with the lowest financial capacity, adjusting assistance according to available financial resources.
