IRS payment schedule for tax refunds in late March 2025

The Internal Revenue Service often issues tax refund payments within 21 days after filing. However, it is not possible for the IRS to deliver all the payments within just three weeks because of several reasons.

Some taxpayers may have claimed tax credits that the IRS needs to find out their eligibility. If the Agency needs you to review your 2024 tax return, there could be delays. That is why it is advisable to double-check your return before you submit it

Those taxpayers who have filed electronically, requested a direct deposit, and did not get their tax refund within 21 days can do something. Visit the IRS official website and use the “Where’s my refund?” tool.

As a matter of fact, this will be the best way to know where your tax refund is. Using the “Where’s my refund? tool is simple and free. In this way, you will get free and instant information.

Americans who have not filed and paid their taxes to the IRS yet must do so before the April 15, deadline. If you need an extension of time, pay your tax liability and request it before April 15, 2025.
