- Take an Oath of Allegiance to the United States of America
- Be able to read, write, and speak basic English
- Show an attachment to the principles and ideals of the Constitution of the United States
- Have both understanding and knowledge of the fundamentals of the principles, form of government, and history of the USA
- Demonstrate you have lived for a minimum of 3 months in a state or USCIS district having jurisdiction over your place of residence and
- Show that you are and have been a person of good moral character for a minimum of 5 years before the date you file Form N-400.
