SSI benefits will not be the only payments scheduled by Social Security in early April

SSI benefits will not be the only payments scheduled by Social Security in early April

The Administration has announced that there will be an SSI payment on April 1, 2025. The only difference with the previous Supplemental Security Income payments is the fact that it will arrive on the first and not ahead of schedule like the January, February and March payments.

For your information, SSI beneficiaries share the payday and all of them will get the direct deposit or check on April 1, 2025. This is not the same as in Social Security retirement or Disability Insurance payments, which have 4 different paydays and recipients can only get one of them.

Which Social Security payment has the Agency scheduled apart from SSI?

Next week some retirees and SSDI recipients may collect their April payment. Actually, it will be delivered on April 3 according to the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule.

To qualify for Social Security on April 3, you must meet one of these 2 requirements. In fact, one way is to be receiving SSI benefits and Social Security at the same time.

Thus, some American recipients will get SSI on April 1 and Social Security on April 3. It means they can receive 2 different monthly payments within 48 hours in the U.S.

SSI checks average $715

The amount of your SSI payment is made to measure and it will be determined by the SSA. However, if you are not an SSI recipient, you should know that on average recipients get $715.

By age, Supplemental Security Income average payments are:

  • 65+: $591
  • 18-64: $762
  • under 18: 836

If you are on Social Security and Supplemental Security simultaneously, you may get a lower-than-average retirement or SSDI payment. Retirees receive about $1,980 on average. However, SSDI recipients get about $1,580 on average.

The maximum amounts for Supplemental Security benefits are 3 different ones. It will depend on whether you qualify as an individual essential person or a married couple. While an individual can receive up to $967, this Federal benefit can pay up to $1,450 to an eligible married couple. An essential person can only get up to $484.
