The March payments for Social Security recipients are over. Therefore, it is time to know when your new monthly payment will be deposited in your bank account in the United States. Some retirees will receive average payments, but others who meet certain requirements will collect up to $5,108 on April 3, 2025.
Bear in mind that this payday will only be for 2 different groups of retirees. Those who are on Supplemental Security Income and Social Security receive a direct deposit on the 3rd, but their payment amount will be low. This is because they get SSI which is for low-income recipients. So, it is just a supplement.
Social Security’s 2nd Eligible Group on April 3
Some retirees may also receive a retirement benefit payment on April 3 because they started receiving Social Security before May 1997. In this case, their payment amount could be much higher.
In fact, some retirees who filed at 70 can get up to $5,108. They can receive such a large payment on April 3 because they were high earners for more than 34 years.
Some retirees who filed at Full Retirement Age can get up to $4,018. If you filed at the aged of 62, you can get up to $2,831. Thus, there is a considerable reduction for early filing.
Social Security’s requirements to get $5,108
Only a few retired workers can claim $5,108 in 2025. To get it, you must have worked in jobs that are covered by the Social Security Administration. So, you must have paid taxes to the Agency.
Not doing so may allow you to get a pension but not retirement benefits from SSA. What is more, you must have spent 35 years working. For example, if you worked for 33 years, 2 years would count as 0 in earnings when SSA calculates your payment amount.
Another additional requirement is to have earned the taxable maximum all those years. If you do not earn the contribution and benefit base for 35 years, you will not be entitled to $5,108 when you file at 70.
