SSI checks and direct deposits will be sent on February 28, 2025. Therefore, all eligible recipients will only have to wait for 18 days to receive money from the Supplemental Security Income program.

Only those recipients who get no reductions and qualify for the full SSI amount as an individual will get up to $967. For your information, this will be the March payment in advance. Thus, recipients should expect their check or direct deposit 24 hours ahead of schedule rather than on March 1, 2025.

Could some SSI recipients get a lower payment on Feb. 28?

February 28, 2025, will also bring some lower SSI amounts. For example, if you are an essential person, you will receive up to $484. Those seniors who are receiving Social Security retirement benefits can expect about $575 on average.

Therefore, many Supplemental Security Income recipients will receive lower payment amounts. In order to qualify for the full amount without reductions, recipients must have no income and no resources.

Others with little money on hand and few resources may qualify for $967, but it will depend on various circumstances. But what about higher SSI payments on February 28, 2025?

Who will receive more than $967 from SSI benefits?

This will be attainable if you are an eligible married couple on Supplemental Security Income payments. In fact, couples who both qualify can receive up to $1,450. As of December 31, 2024, these monthly benefits have increased.

Thanks to the 2025 COLA increase, all SSI recipients will get 2.5% more in 2025 than in 2024. This boost will be beneficial because it will help eligible recipients make up for the loss of buying power.

Inflation and soaring prices have reduced seniors’ and people with disabilities’ purchasing power. Remember that you can apply for SSI benefits all year round. Even if you do not have a low income, this is important because you could help someone with no money file for this Federal payment in 2025.
