The Retirement Age in the US Reaches 67: What Changed in 2026 and What May Still Change

The first round of SSDI payments that are due on Wednesdays will be delivered on February 12, 2025. The Social Security Administration will send checks and direct deposits to eligible recipients. To qualify, you must have collected payments after April 30, 1997.

What is more, you must have been born from the 1st to the 10th of the month. If you are on Supplemental Security Income benefits, you do not qualify for the February 12 payment for SSDI. By now, you must be wondering the amount of these Disability Insurance payments Social Security will issue.

SSDI payment amounts on Feb. 12, 2025

The maximum amount of the SSDI payments on February 12 will be $4,018. To get so much money, you must have earned the contribution and benefit base for a minimum of 35 years.

This will not be enough since it is mandatory to file at the required age. Undoubtedly, it is not easy to achieve because no one knows when a disability can appear in your life.

Having jobs covered by SSA is also essential to get SSDI payments and its maximum amount. However, most workers with a disability collect lower payments. On average, Disability Insurance payments are worth $1,580 after the 2025 COLA increase.

SSDI payments before and after Feb. 12

February 3 will be the first payday for Disability Insurance recipients in the United States next month. To get money on the third from Social Security, you must have collected these disability benefits before May 1997.

If you are on SSI and Social Security Disability Insurance simultaneously, you can also get the payment on the 3rd. February 19 and February 26 will be the last two round of payments.

If your birth date falls from the 11th to the 20th, your SSDI payment will be in your bank account on February 19. Those whose birthday is after that date will receive direct deposits on February 26, 2025.
