Next SSI check worth 1450 dollars confirmed by Social Security

Next SSI check worth 1450 dollars confirmed by Social Security

The Federal Government funds SSI payments, but the Social Security Administration (SSA) is the one in charge of applications and payment dates. The Supplemental Security Income requires having a low income and little to no resources. What is more, this payment for Americans with a limited budget is only for those who have a disability, are blind, or are aged 65 or older.

According to SSA’s payment schedule, the Administration has confirmed that the next SSI payment will take place on May 1, 2025. This will not be the only payday that the Agency has scheduled for May 2025. As a matter of fact, Supplemental Security Income recipients only get a check or direct deposit per month. So no bonus or extra payments will be sent.

SSI payments on May 1 and May 30

All Supplemental Security Income recipients who remain eligible will collect their monthly payments on both May 1 and May 30. Bear in mind that May 30 is the payment for June.

Therefore, it is important to save that money for the following month’s expenses. It does not matter if you are on this Federal program because of a medical condition, blindness or age.

All SSI recipients get their check or direct deposit on the same payday. On average, beneficiaries get about $715. If you are an eligible married couple and you both qualify for the full amount, you can receive $1,450 on May 1 and May 30, 2025.

SSI payment right before Social Security’s deposits

There is great news for Supplemental Security Income recipients who are also receiving Social Security RSDI payments. Usually, they get the Federal payment on the 1st and Social Security on the 3rd.

However, there can be some changes. For example, the SSI payment for June 1 will be delivered on May 30. This is because June 1 is Sunday. So the Administration needs to reschedule the payday. As a result, the payday will be on the previous business day.

This also happens to retirement, survivors, or disability benefits. The RSDI payments for May 3 will be deposited on May 2. Again, May 3 is Sunday and SSA cannot pay when offices and banks are closed.

Therefore, Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries will collect the Federal payment on the first and Social Security (Retirement, Survivor or Disability Insurance) on the 2nd.

Receiving 2 payments will be possible in less than 24 hours. If you would like to apply for this Federal program, do so if you meet all the requirements. Here’s the checklist:

Anyone in the United States who is:

  • at least 65 years, or blind or has a qualifying medical condition
  • has limited income
  • has limited resources
  • is a United States citizen or national or is a noncitizen in 1 of certain alien classifications given by DHS
  • is not absent from the 50 States. D.C. or the Northern Mariana Islands for more than 30 days in a row
  • not in jail or confined
  • allows SSA to check income
  • files an application
  • other requirements may apply
