The last payment in January will be for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) recipients. However, even if it has been scheduled for this month, you will receive this check or direct deposit in advance.

Bear in mind that the Social Security Administration (SSA) cannot issue or schedule payments on weekends. As a matter of fact, this is not possible because the Agency always sets payments on business days. That is when SSA offices and financial institutions are open.

Who will receive the next SSI payment and when?

The Administration has confirmed that all SSI recipients who remain eligible will get their monthly payment for February on January 31, 2025. To be eligible for the Supplemental Security Income program you must:

  • have limited resources
  • have limited income
  • meet one of these conditions:
    • have a qualifying disability (adult or children)
    • be blind (adult or children)
    • be aged 65 or older
  • have filed, received approval and still meet all the conditions

Unlike, Social Security retirement or SSDI payments, this will be the only paydays for all beneficiaries. Therefore, you will not need to wait any longer to get your payment from the Federal Government. January 31, 2025, will be the only payday for all recipients.

SSI payment amounts for the February payment on Jan. 31

The Social Security Administration has confirmed the new maximum amounts for the SSI program will remain the same throughout 2025. For example, if you are an essential person, you will receive a payment of up to $484, up from $472 in 2024.

Another option is to be an individual on SSI benefits. Therefore, the maximum amount possible will be up to $967, up from $943. Married couples can receive a lot more if they both qualify for these Federal payments.

Currently, an eligible married couple can receive up to $1,450 from the Supplemental Security Income program. On average, checks and direct deposits can be about $696 as of December 2024. After the 2025 COLA, they may have become about $713.
