SNAP monthly payments from mid-April onward

SNAP or the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program is still delivering Food Stamps in many States. It is true that millions of eligible recipients have already collected money on their Electronic Benefit Transfer cards, more commonly known as EBT. These names may be different in some States like Texas or California. For example, this benefit is called CalFresh in California and the EBT card in Texas is known as the Lone Star card.

For your information, there will be some SNAP payments through April 28. Texas and Florida are the States that will take longer to distribute Food Stamps. Bear in mind that these are among the 3 States with the highest populations in the United States. So it is easier to deliver monthly payments with a wider payment schedule.

The amount of your SNAP payment amount will depend on your personal and financial situation. For example, having a disability or being aged 60 may allow you to have more resources to qualify. If you are 2 members in your household, the maximum payment for your household size is higher than for an individual.

SNAP payment amounts and ABAWD time limit

If you are 2 people living in your household, you can only get up to $536 from the SNAP benefit. On average, 2-member households receive from USDA about $364 per the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.

The average SNAP payment for one person is $199 said the CBPP. However, if you get no reductions because you have no money at all and no earnings, it could be up to $292.

It is more than likely that many SNAP recipients have 3 or 4 members in their households. Families of 3 can get up to $768 ($594 on average). If you are 4, it can be up to $975.

Other possible amounts from 5 to 8 members are:

  • 5: $1,158
  • 6: $1,390
  • 7: $1,536
