IRS special stimulus checks and upcoming PFD payments

Before 2024 came to an end, the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) announced that there would be special stimulus check payments through late January. Since there are just a few days left in January, your payment may be on its way if you qualify.

Not sure if you qualify? These special stimulus check payments will be for those American taxpayers who have filed a 2021 tax return and did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit even if they qualified.

Can you still apply for this IRS stimulus check?

All the taxpayers who receive their 2021 stimulus check cannot apply. However, if you have not filed a 2021 tax return and you have not claimed the Recovery Rebate Credit yet, you may be eligible.

All you have to do is check the requirements for the Recovery Rebate Credit. Then, if you meet them, you can file a 2021 tax return and claim the RRC stimulus check payment.

Nevertheless, there is an important deadline you cannot miss. Make sure you file your 2021 tax return before the April 15, 2025, deadline comes to an end. Thus, the only way to receive it is by filing and claiming it. Filing is required even if you had little or no earnings at all back then.

Not eligible for this IRS stimulus check? Apply for PFD if you live in Alaska

Finding ways to increase your monthly income and earnings is essential. Not only can you receive money from the IRS, but there are also alternatives like PFD payments in Alaska or Universal Basic Income programs across the U.S.

The Alaska Department of Revenue has confirmed that there will be a new payment for the PFD program. As a matter of fact, it will be delivered on February 20 if your status says “Eligible-Not Paid” on February 12.

After this PFD payment in February, DOR has scheduled another one on March 20. Again, check your status to see if you qualify on March 12. Remember that PFD applications for the 2024 checks are over, but you can still apply for the 2025 payments. Do not forget to apply for the IRS stimulus checks before the April 15 deadline if you have not done so yet.
