Social Security confirms the next RSDI payments in late March and April

United States RSDI (Retirement, Survivor, and Disability Insurance) recipients can collect their Social Security payments on different dates. As of March 2025, the last Retirement, Survivor or Disability Insurance payday will be due on the 26th. Bear in mind that to get these benefits, you must have applied and received approval from the Agency before you get the first one.

Those RSDI recipients who started collecting benefits after April 30, 1997, and were born after the 20th qualify for the March 26, 2025, payment. Thus, if your birthday is from the 21st to the 31st, this will be the day when you receive the money you are entitled to in your bank account.

RSDI payment dates confirmed for April

The Administration has announced that all the April payments will be delivered on their normal payday. For example, there will be a payment for RSDI beneficiaries on April 3 as usual.

To get money from Social Security on April 3 you must have collected RSDI benefits before May 1997. Those who are on both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income can receive it too.

In their case, it does not matter if they began receiving RSDI payments before May 1997 or after. Retirees, Survivors, and Disability Insurance recipients have different payment amounts though.

How much will RSDI recipients get from SSA?

The amount each recipient gets from the Social Security Administration can be completely different. For example, some may get the maximum while others may get less than an average payment.

To get an idea of what an RSDI payment could be like, let’s have a look at the average payments. Retirees can get about $1,978 on average. Survivors can get approximately $1,546 (on average too).

SSDI recipients can get an average payment worth $1,580. If you have not filed for retirement benefits yet, it is important to know that it is best to delay retirement as much as you can, ideally until you are 70, to get 24% extra from Social Security.
