Social Security Updates: What’s the Average Benefit to Expect in April

If you have a qualifying disability and you have applied for Social Security, this may be your next SSDI payment in the United States. February 26 will be when the Agency will deliver checks or deposits worth $1,580 on average.

More than 7 million Americans receive SSDI in February, but some of them have not collected it yet because their payday is the 26th. Anyone collecting Disability Insurance must have earned enough work credits and paid enough taxes. Having a disability that prevents you from working for over a year is also required. Not to mention the fact that your medical condition must meet Social Security‘s strict definition.

SSDI & payment date eligibility

To qualify for the Social Security Disability Insurance payment on February 26, 2025, you must have been born after the 20th. These are the recipients who can collect this check or direct deposit if they were:

  • born on the 21st
  • born on the 22nd
  • born on the 23rd
  • born on the 24th
  • born on the 25th
  • born on the 26th
  • born on the 27th
  • born on the 28th
  • born on the 29th
  • born on the 30th
  • born on the 31st

SSDI payments due in March 2025

The Social Security Administration has confirmed that there will not be any changes to the March payment dates. Usually, there may be a few days difference, but the paydays will be the same as in February. If you remain eligible for SSDI, this is when payments will be in your bank account:

  • If you received Disability Insurance on February 3: payment due on March 3, 2025
  • If you received Disability Insurance on February 12: payment due on March 12, 2025
  • If you received Disability Insurance on February 19: payment due on March 19, 2025
  • If you received Disability Insurance on February 26: payment due on March 26, 2025

Average payment amounts will be similar to $1,580. The maximum benefits for Disability Insurance payments will be $4,018 throughout 2025. So the maximum disability benefits will be the same in February and March.
