These Texas SNAP Recipients Are Getting Paid Between March 9 and 15

Receiving two SSI payments during the same month is only possible when Social Security needs to reschedule one payment. This is possible when the Supplemental Security Income payment on the first day of the month falls on a Federal Holiday or on the weekend.

Therefore, all SSI recipients receive the check or direct deposit in advance. Getting the money ahead of schedule means that there could be two paydays during the same month.

Two SSI payments scheduled in May 2025

Although there are some important changes in the Supplemental Security payment in March, it will not be until May when recipients will get a monthly payment on May 1 and another one on May 30, 2025.

The first payday, on May 1, will be for that month. However, the one that will be delivered on May 30 will be the payment in advance from June 1, 2025. So, recipients will need to keep the money for their June expenses since it is not a bonus or extra check.

The maximum amounts for these paydays will be:

  • individuals: up to $967
  • essential person: up to $484
  • eligible married couples up to $1,450

2 SSI payments in August 2025

As you can see, receiving a payment in advance and having 2 paydays scheduled during the same month is not that odd. The Supplemental Security Income program will deliver a check on August 1 and another one on August 29 (for September).

This is not the only surprise for the SSI recipients who are also receiving Social Security. Those who usually get Supplemental Security on the 1st and Social Security on the 3rd will receive both payments on August 1, 2025.

For your information, SSI payments are for low-income Americans. Hence, if your income increases, you may lose eligibility and you must report any changes to SSA to avoid overpayments. If you are not a recipient yet, it it high time you applied for this monthly benefit for seniors aged 65, people who are blind or have a disability.
