Social Security confirms the next payment date for age 64

Many 64-year-olds have not received any Social Security payment in February. At least, not yet. Bear in mind that the Administration has scheduled three more paydays so things can soon change for those who are waiting for their new payment in the United States.

The upcoming payments are not exclusively scheduled for 64-year-olds. However, each age group has a different Social Security payment amount. Because of the 2025 COLA increase, retirees aged 64 and others, get 2.5% extra in February if compared to their payments in 2024.

Which 64-year-olds will get Social Security next week?

The U.S. Government, through the SSA, has confirmed that to receive a Social Security payment on February 12, you must have filed for retirement after April 30, 1997, not be receiving SSI benefits, and have been born from the 1st through the 10th, regardless of the month.

Other seniors aged 62 or older may also receive this payment on the 12th. Keep in mind that those born from the 11th to the 20th will not get their payment until February 19.

The last seniors aged 64 to get their monthly payment of about $1,471 must have their birth date from the 21st to the 31st. This last payday will be due on February 26, 2025.

64-year-old and not claimed Social Security yet?

Many 64-year-olds have not filed for retirement benefits yet. At the moment, you must be wondering when it would be best to apply for these monthly payments in the United States.

For your information, the longer you delay retirement until you are 70, the more your retirement benefits will grow. Currently, the Social Security Administration gives 24% extra per month if you file at 70 instead of filing at Full Retirement Age.

The only way to receive 100% of your benefits without reductions is to file at Full Retirement Age, and age 65 is no longer FRA. Now you have skipped early filing at 62, you could delay it as much as you can if what you need is a larger payment.
