Use SNAP to buy seasonally and locally grown food

If you buy food that is in season, you will be able to save SNAP money. Prices tend to be lower when you buy fruits and vegetables that are easily grown in winter, spring, summer, or fall.

Make use of all the coupons that stores offer to save money on the thing you usually buy. Go grocery shopping after lunch because you will not be tempted to buy fast or unhealthy food. It’s not a good idea to buy when you are hungry!

Make a list of the things that you need to buy with your SNAP dollars. In this way, you will save money because you will only buy what is on it. Of course, if you stick to it. What is more, compare prices and get sales or discounts whenever possible.

Take your SNAP EBT card when you travel

If you are thinking about a weekend trip on Presidents Day, have a look at the Museums for ALL website. If you are a SNAP recipient, you can gain free or reduced admission to more than 1,400 museums.

These museums are across the United States so there will surely be one wherever you go on President’s Day. All you have to do is check the museum, zoo or gallery has joined the Museums for ALL initiative.

Then, carry with you your SNAP EBT card and photo ID. Are you interested in this program? Visit their official website now at https://museums4all.org/ to see if you could visit it on Presidents Day. Special occasions may not offer discounts though, so call before you visit it to avoid disappointment.
