SNAP (Food Stamps) for 4-member families in the U.S., payment schedule for mid and late December

Some families of 4 have not receivied their Food Stamps in December, check the SNAP payments left before 2025 with COLA

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), through the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS), has confirmed the SNAP payments in December. Some States will issue Food Stamps through December 28. Therefore, there are more than 2 weeks of payment dates for some States. As for the amounts, a family of 4 can receive up to $975 in the 48 contiguous States.

For your information, other families and individuals can also receive SNAP benefits in mid and late December, 2024. However, this article is focused on payments for 4-member families.

SNAP payment schedule for mid and late December

As a matter of fact, SNAP payments are not over in  23 States and Puerto Rico. To know when your State will issue the last Food Stamps, check it below:

Alabama: December 4-23
Arizona: December 1-13
Arkansas: December 4-13
Delaware: December 2-23
Florida: December 1-28
Georgia: December 5-23
Indiana: December 5-23
Kentucky: December 1-19
Louisiana: December 1-23
Maine: December 10-14
Maryland: December 4-23
Massachusetts: December 1-14
Michigan: December 3-21
Mississippi: December 4-21
Missouri: December 1-22
New Mexico: December 1-20
North Carolina: December 3-21
Ohio: December 2-20
Tennessee: December 1-20
Texas: December 1-28
Utah: December 15
Washington: December 1-20
Wisconsin: December 1-15
Puerto Rico: December 4 – 22

If you are a SNAP recipient and you have not received your Food Stamps yet in Arizona or Arkansas, you will receive them on December 13. If you do not get it on December 13 in Massachusetts or Maine, you will get them on December 14. So recipients there will not have to wait for long.

SNAP amounts for families of 4

Although you can receive up to $975 if you have no income and resources, many recipients do not get the full amount because they have other benefits or earnings.

According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, the average payment after the 2025 COLA increase on October 1, 2024, is about $726 if you are 4 members in your family.

If you are facing food insecurity and you need money to buy groceries and healthier food, apply for SNAP benefits as soon as possible. Expedited Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits are available in you are in an emergency situation.
