The RSDI payments are only for those who have filed and got approval from Social Security. Average payment amounts will differ because it depends on whether you qualify for Retirement, Survivor or Disability Insurance benefits.

The new payment schedule for March confirms that there will be a total of 4 payments. As usual, Social Security will deliver the first checks to those seniors who have been on benefits for about 28 years or longer.

Who qualifies for RSDI payments from Social Security on March 3?

For your information, if you started collecting RSDI benefits from Social Security before May 1997, your next payday will be March 3, 2025. But this will not be the only eligible group of recipients.

If you have limited resources and a low income, you may be a recipient of both RSDI and SSI. Therefore, you may have collected Supplemental Security Income on February 28, 2025, and you will receive Social Security on March 3, 2025.

The other payment dates for RSDI will be March 12, March 19, and March 26, 2025. For example, if your birth date falls on the first up to the tenth of the month, your payday will be on March 12. If it falls from 11-20, checks and deposits arrive on March 19. The last payday will be for those born from 21-31 on March 26, 2025.

Social Security’s RSDI average payment amounts

The Administration will issue payments of about $1,978 on average for retired workers. Spouses of retired workers and their children can get about $931 and $919 on average respectively.

Survivors benefits are about $1,546.57 for all recipients. Hence, they receive a much lower payment than those American citizens on retirement benefits, but what about Social Security Disability Insurance benefit amounts?

On average, SSDI recipients get $1,439. If you are a worker with a disability on SSDI, the average payment for your group is $1,580. Again, spouses can get about $431 and children about $510 on average.
