The United States Government, through the Social Security Administration (SSA) will send SSDI payments in early April. Some Disability Insurance recipients have not collected their March 26 payment yet.

However, others are looking forward to knowing when their next payday will be in April. Especially if this is your first payment. The maximum amount an SSDI recipient can get is $4,018. Few beneficiaries qualify for such a large payment and smaller amounts are more frequent.

Who can receive SSDI payments due on April 3, 2025?

The Social Security Administration’s payment schedule has confirmed that there are 2 types of beneficiaries on April 3. The first group is if you started collecting Disability Insurance before May 1997.

Not in this group of SSDI recipients? Then, there is an alternative way to qualify for the first payment of this king in April. Those beneficiaries who are on Supplemental Security Income as well also qualify.

Still not clear who can receive it? Basically, you must be a recipient of the Supplemental Security Income (also known as SSI) benefits and SSDI payments from Social Security.

How much will Social Security pay to SSDI recipients?

On average, SSDI payments are $1,580. That is the average payment amount if you are a worker with a disability on Social Security as of January 2025. Therefore, all the April payments, including the one on the third will bring the 2025 COLA increase included.

If you did not have much time to work and pay taxes to the Social Security Administration, you may qualify for a lower-than-average payment. In fact, you may even be receiving SSI benefits too.

SSI benefits can be up to $967 for individuals. Married couples, if they both qualify, can get up to $1,450 from this Federal program. An essential person can get up to $484 from SSI as well. Apply for Social Security and SSI if you think you meet all the requirements.
