SSI beneficiaries will be the first Americans on disability benefits to get a check or direct deposit from the Federal Government. The Administration’s payment schedule has confirmed that Supplemental Security Income will be paid on April 1, 2025.

For your information, this will be the payday for 3 different types of recipients. Those who qualify for having a disability, but also for those who qualified for being at least 65 years old or because they are blind. The 3 groups have in common that they have a limited income and little to no resources.

SSI arrives 2 days before SSDI payments

SSDI payments are usually sent on the third day of the month. Since there are no changes, April 3 will be the first payday for Disability Insurance recipients who:

Some SSDI recipients do not qualify for the first payday. Therefore, they must wait for their monthly payments to arrive on April 9, 16 or 23. Their birth date will be essential to determine payday eligibility.

If you are an eligible married couple, you could receive up to $1,450 on April 1. This will be the maximum amount for the Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries in the U.S.

An individual can receive up to $967 from the Federal Government. However, an average payment may be likely for many other recipients who are not entitled to the full amount.

Reductions are frequent because many SSI recipients are on retirement or SSDI payments simultaneously. SSDI beneficiaries get about $1,580 on average. Only high earners can receive up to $4,018 from Social Security.
