Social Security’s payment schedule sometimes brings interesting changes. However, SSI recipients can only get 1 payment per month, so 12 per year. For your information, there are no extra payments or bonuses for Supplemental Security Income beneficiaries.
Nevertheless, there will be an advanced SSI payment since the June payday will be set in late May. Social Security generally sends Supplemental Security payments on the first day of the month unless it falls on the weekend or on a Federal holiday.
SSI to be deposited on May 30, 2025
June 1, 2025, will be Sunday so the Social Security Administration has had to reschedule it for the previous business day. As a consequence, all SSI recipients who remain eligible will collect their Supplemental Security Income payment 2 days before the normal payday.
Since Social Security’s payment schedule unveiled that there will be a payment on May 1 for SSI recipients, they will get to deposits that month. Still, all recipients must keep that payment for their June expenses.
It will not be until August 2025 that the Social Security Administration will have to issue two payments during the same month for the same reason. So SSI deposits will be delivered on August 1 and August 29, 2025.
SSI maximum amounts for May deposits
The maximum amounts for Supplemental Security Income recipients will be the same all year round. An individual, after the 2025 Cost-of-Living Adjustment increase, can get up to $967.
In 2024, the maximum amount was $943. So the May 2025 payments will be 24 dollars higher than the SSI payment for May 2024. Some households may get up to $1,450 if they are married and both qualify for this Federal benefit.
Supplemental Security Income payments are also for essential persons. As a matter of fact, they can collect up to $484. The average amount is $714 for all recipients. If you are aged 65+, the average payment for your age group is $590 as of January 2025.
