Here are the next payment dates for all SSDI recipients in the United States, Social Security confirms paydays in April for eligible beneficiaries

Social Security Payments in November 2025: What Will Happen to Your Money During the Government Shutdown

Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) recipients who qualify can get a Social Security payment as early as April 3, 2025. Many Disability Insurance beneficiaries get the payment on the third because they are also receiving SSI.

This is one of the two ways to receive an SSDI payment on April 3. Another possibility to get disability benefits on April 3 is to have been on benefits for more than 27 years. So, if you got them before May 1997.

Last SSDI benefit payments

The last Social Security Disability Insurance payments will be delivered on April 23, 2025. Remember that to get money on the last payday in April you cannot be on SSI, you can’t have gotten Social Security before May 1997 and your birthday must be from the 21st to the 31st.

There are three different ways for Social Security recipients to get their monthly payments. Some may still get a check, others may receive a direct deposit and some can even get it through a Direct Express®debit card.

To report a late or missing payment, SSDI recipients must wait for three working days. Generally, all payments are on time and any delays may be related to difficulties in processing payment by banks.

SSDI on April 9 & 16

Not eligible for Social Security on April 3 or 26? Then, your payment will be deposited on April 9 if born from the 1st through the 10th. SSA will only check the birthday, not the month or year.

Of course, filing and approval is required before you can get any payments from the Administration. Those Disability Insurance recipients who were born from the 11th to the 20th will get their payment on April 16, 2025.

Payment Date Who Receives the Payment
April 3, 2025 – SSDI recipients who also get SSI
– SSDI beneficiaries who started receiving benefits before May 1997
April 9, 2025 SSDI recipients born from the 1st to the 10th (not on SSI and benefits started after April 1997)
April 16, 2025 SSDI recipients born from the 11th to the 20th (not on SSI and benefits started after April 1997)
April 23, 2025 SSDI recipients born from the 21st to the 31st (not on SSI and benefits started after April 1997)

SSDI payments can be about $1,580 on average. If a spouse qualifies for Social Security on the worker’s record, the average payment is about $431. The average payment for children on the worker’s record is $510. Before you apply for Disability Insurance, gather medical reports to prove your eligibility.
