Good news is you are either a Veteran or a member of the military, the IRS (Internal Revenue Service) confirms that you may be eligible if you meet all the requirements the Agency established for the 2024 tax return. Remember that the 2025 Tax Season started on January 27 and it will be possible to file your federal income tax return through April 15, 2025.

If you are a Veteran or a member of the military, it is time to check the conditions to qualify for a tax credit of up to $7,830. For your information, EITC stands for the Earned Income Tax Credit.

Who is the IRS EITC for?

The Internal Revenue Service claims that this tax credit is only for:

  • low-income workers & families
  • moderate-income workers $ families

The aim of the Earned Income Tax Credit is to help American taxpayers get a tax break. If you are an eligible Veteran or a member of the military, you will be able to use the EITC to lower the amount of tax you owe the IRS.

Sometimes, taxpayers can also increase the amount of their tax refund. Therefore, it is of vital importance to make sure whether you can receive this money or not from the IRS.

Who qualifies for the IRS EITC in 2025?

Those who have a low-to-moderate income may claim the Earned Income Tax Credit. If you are an eligible member of the military or a Veteran and you have children, the amount of the EITC may change.

Those who have dependents or people with a disability living in their household may also receive a different amount. The only bad thing about the EITC is the fact that tax returns may arrive by March 3, 2025.

When it comes to earnings limit, it ranges from $18,591 (no kids and single), up to $66,819 (3 kids and Filing as married filing jointly). Check your EITC on the IRS official website at: https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/earned-income-tax-credit-eitc
