Depending on when you filed and received approval, disability payments may take more or less time to be in your bank account. Now, there are only three paydays left in April.

The three of them will be sent on a Wednesday. So, you may receive it on the second, third, or fourth Wednesday in April. Believe it or not, Social Security arranges SSDI paydays depending on your birth date. So an early birthday also brings an early disability payment as well. Note that none of these recipients qualify for the SSI payments and they all began getting benefits after April 30, 1997.

SSDI recipients to get the last payment in April

The Social Security Administration will send the April 23 disability payment to SSDI recipients whose birthday is from the 21st to the 31st, regardless of the month they were born in.

Therefore, there are a few weeks left before they can collect their Disability Insurance payments. SSDI recipients whose birth date is from the 11th to the 20th will collect their checks or direct deposits on April 16, 2025.

Thus, the first disability payment for the Wednesday rounds will be due on April 9, 2025. All Disability Insurance payments are expected to be delivered on time. If there were any delays, you should simply contact your bank or financial institution first. SSA should not be contacted if you have not waited for at least three mailing days.

Largest SSDI payments in April 2025

The largest Social Security payment in 2025 is not for SSDI recipients. This is because their disability prevents them from meeting all the work requirements set by the Administration. A retiree can receive up to $5,108 if they file at the age of 70.

On the contrary, if you qualify for SSDI benefits, you can only get up to $4,018. This is the largest disability benefit for those recipients who:

have worked for 35 years

paid enough payroll taxes to SSA

earned the taxable maximum or contribution benefit base for 35 years too

filed at the age required by SSA

Anyway, it is advisable to check your Social Security Statement to check the payment amount you may receive if you have not filed yet. On average, SSDI payments are about $1,580.

So, it would not be realistic to think that your Disability Insurance payment will be worth $4,018. If your Social Security check or direct deposit is too low, there is something you can do.

As a matter of fact, disability recipients with a low income may qualify for SSI payments.
