Payment amounts are also different because SSI is a supplement for Americans who do not have enough earnings.

The SSI payment, for seniors aged 65 or older, people with a disability (qualifying medical condition), or people who are blind, were deposited on April 1, 2025. Therefore, there will not be a new Supplemental Security Income payment until May 1, 2025. Besides, the May schedule also includes the SSI for June on May 30, 2025.

RSDI payments in early April

Some RSDI (Retirement, Survivor & Disability Insurance) recipients qualified for the first payment in April for this group. For example, some beneficiaries qualify because they got their first Social Security payment before May 1997. That was about 28 years ago, so you must have been for a really long time on benefits to qualify in this way. Their payday was April 3 so they will not get a new one until May 2.

Others qualify because they are receiving both RSDI and SSI. For these two groups of eligible recipients, their last payday was April 3, 2025. Thus, they will not receive their next monthly payment until May 2 in the United States.

The average RSDI payment is worth about $1,839. However, it will depend on your work history and other factors whether you receive this amount or a completely different one. For instance, if you are planning to file for retirement benefits, the average payment amount for this group is $1,980 as of February 2025.

SSDI recipients receive about $1,580 on average.
