Both will be affecting the lives of millions of retirees on <strong>Social Security<\/strong> in the <strong>United States<\/strong>. On the one hand, it is time to know that <strong>Daylight Saving Time <\/strong>begins (clocks move forward) on<strong> March 9<\/strong>, 2025, at 2 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand,<strong> retirement benefit payments<\/strong> will continue arriving on<strong> March 12<\/strong>. Thus, this payday will take place a couple of days after <strong>Daylight Saving Time begins.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Social Security payment after Daylight Saving Time starts<\/h2>\n<p>To be eligible for the retirement check or direct deposit on <strong>March 12<\/strong>, you must meet several requirements. First, you must have filed and started receiving <strong>Social Security<\/strong> after April 30, 1997.<\/p>\n<p>Second, you must be on <strong>Social Security retirement<\/strong> but not on Federal SSI payments. Third, your birthday must fall between the first and the twelfth, regardless of the month.<\/p>\n<p>On this same day, <strong>SSDI<\/strong> recipients who meet the same requirements as the ones previously mentioned will get their check or deposit on March 12 as well. Payment amounts will be different though.<\/p>\n<h2>Social Security amounts on March 12, after Daylight Saving Time starts<\/h2>\n<p>On average, Social Security payments will be <strong>$1,978<\/strong> as of January 2025. All the <strong>March retirement payments<\/strong> will include the 2025 COLA increase. So, do not worry if this is the first time you get retirement benefits in 2025 because it includes the Cost-of-Living Adjustment.<\/p>\n<p>High earners may receive up to <strong>$2,831<\/strong> if they filed for <strong>Social Security at 62<\/strong>. Those who have filed at Full Retirement Age can receive up to $4,018. Only those who filed at 70 can get up to $5,108.<\/p>\n<p>SSDI recipients who get a payment right after <strong>Daylight Saving Time<\/strong> starts will get about $1,580 on average.
