To receive a spousal benefit payment on February 26, your birth date must fall after the 20th.<\/p>\n<p>Thus, if you are a spouse of a retired worker on <strong>Social Security<\/strong> and you were born from the 21st to the 31st, you will get your payment on the 26th. Those on SSI and retirement benefits qualify for the March 3 payment though.<\/p>\n<p>If you also have qualifying <strong>children,<\/strong> they can get about <strong>$919.02<\/strong> on average. Obviously, they must also meet all the requirements to get money from Social Securiy in 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>Requirements to get Social Security spousal benefits<\/h2>\n<p>If you are not eligible for the<strong> spousal benefit payments<\/strong> in February because you have never filed for <strong>Social Security<\/strong>, check your eligibility. Keep in mind that $931 is just an average amount.<\/p>\n<p>Some spousal benefits will be higher but others will be lower. Thus, if your spouse works and is about to file for retirement benefits, you <strong>must be at least 62<\/strong> years old to get benefits.<\/p>\n<p>Those spouses who are not 62 yet can receive <strong>Social Security spousal benefits<\/strong> if they have a qualifying child. A qualifying child must be on disability benefits or under 16.
