There will be <strong>tax relief for taxpayers<\/strong> who were <strong>impacted by wildfires<\/strong> in the State of <strong>California.<\/strong> For your information, the <strong>Agency<\/strong> states that several deadlines have been <strong>postponed to October 15<\/strong>, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>The good news is that this tax relief will be for both businesses and individuals in some parts of <strong>California.<\/strong> Of course, your area must have been affected by <strong>straight-line winds<\/strong> and <strong>wildfires<\/strong> that started on January 7, 2025.<\/p>\n<h2>IRS announces more than that<\/h2>\n<p>If you were affected by the wildfires in some part of California on January 7, 2025, you now have until <strong>October 15, 2025<\/strong>, to <strong>file<\/strong> several federal individual and business <strong>tax returns,<\/strong> and most importantly, to <strong>make tax payments<\/strong> as well.<\/p>\n<p>This tax relief comes after <strong>FEMA&#8217;s<\/strong> (the Federal Emergency Management Agency) disaster declaration. Thus, if you are currently living in <strong>Los Angeles County<\/strong> or you have a business in that area you qualify for these changes.<\/p>\n<p>Once a <strong>FEMA<\/strong> declaration is made, the <strong>IRS<\/strong> can allow taxpayers to get an automatic time extension and also allows them to postpone tax-payment deadlines. Of course, you must be living in a disaster area and affected by wildfires.<\/p>\n<h2>When is the IRS deadline to file your 2024 tax return if you are not affected by wildfires?<\/h2>\n<p>The deadline to file the 2024 federal income tax return if you<strong> do not qualify for tax relief<\/strong> is <strong>April 15, 2025<\/strong>.
