The next Supplemental Security Income (SSI)<\/strong> payment will be distributed on February 28<\/strong>, 2025. Actually, it should have been scheduled for March 1, 2025, but it was not viable.<\/p>\n

For your information, the Administration<\/strong> cannot schedule or issue payments on the weekend. What is more, it is not possible either to do that on a Federal Holiday. That is why there has been this change of payday<\/strong> for the SSI<\/strong> program.<\/p>\n

SSI cannot be issued on March 1<\/h2>\n

March 1 is Saturday. As it was stated previously, the Social Security Administration<\/strong> can never pay on those days. As a result, the only way to avoid this situation is to issue the Supplemental Security Income<\/strong> payment on the previous business day<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So, all SSI recipients who qualify for this program will receive their payment on February 28, 2025.<\/strong> It does not really matter if it falls in the previous month or if it is 24 hours ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n

By doing so, the Agency wants to make sure that no SSI<\/strong> recipient gets their money late. Supplemental Security is for low-income Americans, so they rely on this money to make ends meet. Sending payments on time is essential then.<\/p>\n

Social Security SSI: March Payments Scheduled for February \u2013 Check Your Amount<\/h2>\n

Supplemental Security Income<\/strong> payments will include the 2025 Cost-of-Living Adjustment<\/strong> and checks can be up to $967 for individuals. If you are an eligible married couple on Supplemental Security Income, it could be a lot more.<\/p>\n

Currently, the new and updated maximum amount for couples who both qualify is $1,450<\/strong>. The lowest payment will be for essential persons who can only receive up to $484.<\/p>\n

On average, SSI payments<\/strong> are the lowest if compared to Social Security Disability Insurance or retirement benefits. They are about $696<\/strong> as of December 2024. Seniors get about $575<\/strong> on average. If you are aged 18-64, the average payment for your age is $743. Those under 18 can get about $812 on average.<\/p>\n

What steps can I take if I disagree with my SSI payment amount?<\/h2>\n

Request a reconsideration<\/strong> within 60 days<\/strong> of receiving the initial determination notice.<\/strong> You can file the request online, by mail, or by fax.<\/strong> Provide additional information<\/strong> to support your case. ssa.gov<\/strong> <\/a>| ncoa.org<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

If the reconsideration is denied,<\/strong> ask for a hearing with an administrative law judge<\/strong> within 60 days.<\/strong> The hearing can be in-person, by video, or by phone.<\/strong> Submit evidence<\/strong> and explain why you disagree<\/strong> with the decision.<\/p>\n

If you don’t agree with the judge’s decision,<\/strong> request an Appeals Council review<\/strong> within 60 days.<\/strong> The Appeals Council<\/strong> will grant, deny, or dismiss<\/strong> your request. It may issue a decision<\/strong> or return the case<\/strong> to the judge.<\/p>\n

If you disagree with the Appeals Council\u2019s decision,<\/strong> you can file a civil action in U.S. District Court<\/strong> as a last resort.<\/strong> You must do this within 60 days.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Consider appointing a representative,<\/strong> such as an attorney,<\/strong> to help with your appeal.
