However, even if they receive different funding, they both qualify for the Administrations&#8217; <strong>2.5% COLA increase in 2025<\/strong>. The only difference is the day when eligible recipients get the annual boost. For example, <strong>SSI<\/strong> recipients will get it on <strong>December 31<\/strong> while SSDI and retirement beneficiaries could get it on January 3, 8, 15, or 22.<\/p>\n<p>If you do <strong>not get Social Security<\/strong>, you have a low income, and little or no resources, you may qualify for the largest <strong>SSI payment amounts.<\/strong> The Federal Government will send direct deposits and checks of up to <strong>$1,450 after COLA<\/strong> for eligible married couples. If you are an individual, you can get up to $967, up from $943. An essential person on SSI can get up to $484 from December 31, 2024, onward.<\/p>\n<h2>Social Security maximum retirement amounts in 2025<\/h2>\n<p>On average, retirees get about $1,927 in 2024. After COLA they will receive about $1,976. However, if you were a higher earner for 35 years, earned the taxable maximum all those years,<strong> filed at 70<\/strong>, and had jobs covered by SSA you could get up to <strong>$5,108<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Remember that not meeting one of these requirements will immediately reduce your Social Security payment. For example, <strong>if you file at the age of 62<\/strong>, you could get up to <strong>$2,831<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Retirees who meet all these requirements but file for benefits <strong>Full Retirement Age in 2025<\/strong> can receive a monthly payment of up to<strong> $4.018<\/strong>. The current maximum amounts for 2024 are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>$4,873 at 70<\/li>\n<li>$3,822 at FRA<\/li>\n<li>$2,710 at 62<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Social Security Disability Insurance maximum amounts in 2025<\/h2>\n<p>After the <strong>COLA increase in 2025<\/strong>, all <strong>SSDI<\/strong> benefits will go up by 2.5%. On average, SSDI payments are about $1,542. After the cost-of-living adjustment, they will become about $1,580.<\/p>\n<p>To get the <strong>maximum SSDI payment<\/strong>, workers must also meet the conditions Social Security set. For example, they must work for 35 years, earn the taxable maximum all this time and pay payroll taxes to SSA.<\/p>\n<p>Filing for SSDI at the required age is also essential to get the largest benefits. However, this is not possible when you have a <strong>medical condition<\/strong> in your 20s or 30s.
