The second option is when the normal payday is a holiday. Of course, it it is a Federal Holiday or the weekend, the payment will be delivered in advance. SSA tends to issue these payments on the previous business day.

Why will there be an SSI payment on January 31, 2025?

In fact, this will be the February payment sent in advance. Remember that the Supplemental Security Income payment for January will be delivered to all eligible recipients on December 31, 2024.

In the same way, since February 1 is Saturday, the SSI checks and direct deposits had to be rescheduled. Hence, for a second month in a row, there will be an SSI payment on the 31st rather than on the 1st.

Anyway, it is important to highlight that this will not be a bonus or an extra payment. This Federal program will always issue 12 payments per year. So, that is the maximum, even if it can sometimes be delivered 24 or 48 hours ahead of schedule.

Possible SSI amounts on January 31, 2025

If you qualify for SSI, you will be able to receive up to:

$484 (essential person)

$967 (an individual)

$1,450 (married couple)

Although these are the largest Supplemental Security Income payments, average checks, and deposits will be more frequent.
