SSI payments<\/strong> are usually<\/strong> scheduled for the first day of the month<\/strong>. However, there are two occasions when Supplemental Security Income payments need to be rescheduled.<\/p>\n

One of them is when the SSI payment date<\/strong> is either Saturday or Sunday. The second option is when the normal payday is a holiday. Of course, it it is a Federal Holiday or the weekend, the payment will be delivered in advance. SSA tends to issue these payments on the previous business day.<\/p>\n

Why will there be an SSI payment on January 31, 2025?<\/h2>\n

In fact, this will be the February payment sent in advance.<\/strong> Remember that the Supplemental Security Income payment for January will be delivered to all eligible recipients on December 31, 2024.<\/p>\n

In the same way, since February 1 is Saturday<\/strong>, the SSI checks and direct deposits had to be rescheduled. Hence, for a second month in a row, there will be an SSI payment on the 31st rather than on the 1st.<\/p>\n

Anyway, it is important to highlight that this will not be a bonus or an extra payment. This Federal program will always issue 12 payments per year.<\/strong> So, that is the maximum, even if it can sometimes be delivered 24 or 48 hours ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n

Possible SSI amounts on January 31, 2025<\/h2>\n

If you qualify for SSI, you will be able to receive up to:<\/p>\n

  • $967 (an individual)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • $1,450 (married couple)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Although these are the largest Supplemental Security Income payments, average checks<\/strong>, and deposits will be more frequent. Currently, as of November 2024, they are about $698<\/strong> for all recipients.<\/p>\n

    If you add a 2.5% COLA increase<\/strong> to the current average payment, Supplemental Security Income recipients will get about $714 on December 31 (payment for January) and on January 31 (payment for February).<\/p>\n
